To Him Who Is Able

God is able to do more that than we can ask or imagine! This weekend Pastor Steve Andres concluded our BIG DREAMS series, and New City Church stepped out in faith to believe for God’s blessing and provision in this next season!

Genesis 25:8,11

Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and full of years; and he was gathered to his people. After Abraham’s death, God blessed his son Isaac.

This Sunday was Commitment Sunday, the moment in our BIG DREAMS INITIATIVE when everyone who calls New City Church their home was asked to make a commitment to generosity and sacrifice to see God’s vision for our church move forward! 

As Abraham breathed his last, his faith remained in God’s ability to do something that outlived and outlasted him. When we are thinking days and dollars, God is thinking nations and generations. That is the heart of our vision as a church: God has blessed us to be a blessing, and that work is bigger than any one person or group of people!

We don’t do amazing, we just do available.

Has God been stirring your heart to step out in faith to participate in this season of generosity? 

A small yes to God is a really big deal.

A choice to follow in the way of Jesus. A decision to be a blessing to others. A choice to love instead of resent. These may seem like a small yes in the face of huge obstacles and challenges, but our faith is in the God who is able!

Ephesians 3:20-21

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
