Day 1 (Tuesday)

Camp Rock families,

Day 1 of Camp Rock was a success! Your kids had a blast exploring God’s creation and learning about the very beginning of everything.

We started our week with Days 1-3 of creation from Genesis 1:1-13, talking about how God spoke light into darkness, separated the sky and waters, and brought forth beautiful plants and trees. We focused on our key memory verse: “What a wildly wonderful world, God! You made it all, with Wisdom at your side, Made earth overflow with your wonderful creations” (Psalm 104:24 MSG).

Today’s highlights: Ask your child what they loved the most!

    •    Worship time singing “God Made Everything” and “Freedom”

    •    Creation-themed painting where each child expressed their view of God’s masterpiece

    •    Games like Giant Ring Toss and Human Ring Toss

    •    Snack time with Skinny Pop popcorn and cheese sticks

Today’s Field Assignment: Name that Water or Mineral.

God gave us the good gift of water, and we can praise him for that gift by taking good care of it. The first step to caring for something is to know it. Today’s field assignment is to learn the name of a nearby watershed, lake, river, creek, or stream. You can look at a map together, OR You can learn the name of your state mineral at State Symbols USA. Campers will have time to share their answers in the morning.

Keep the worship going at home! Here are today’s songs:

    •    God Made Everything / Kids On the Move

    •    Freedom Motions Video

Tomorrow we’re exploring the sun, moon, and stars as we dive into Day 4 of creation!

We’re grateful to be part of their journey of discovering God’s amazing world.
