Day 3 (Thursday)

Camp Rock families,

We’re amazed at how today went! Your kids dove deep into Day 5 of creation from Genesis 1:20-23, discovering how God filled the waters and skies with living creatures.

We continued focusing on our key memory verse: “What a wildly wonderful world, God! You made it all, with Wisdom at your side, Made earth overflow with your wonderful creations” (Psalm 104:24 MSG). We also read Matthew 6:26, learning how God provides for and protects all His creatures, especially us!

Fun fact of the day: The American Goldfinch’s song sounds like “Potato-chip, potato-chip!” – and each bird God created has its own special way of singing praise to Him!

Today’s highlights: What was your favorite part?

  • Worship time singing “Till the Walls Come Down” and “Praise”-“Praise” (Elevation Worship) – Dance Motions
  • A manta ray rescue that showed God’s care for His creatures
  • Learning bird calls and going “birdwatching”
  • Creating diver bottles in our Discovery Station
  • Water Relay races, playing Drip Drip Drop, and Bucket Tick Tack Tock
  • Cool treats with Fruit Snacks and freezer pops

Today’s Field Assignment: What is that Flying Thing?

We learned about birds and native animals today. Your mission is to observe one animal or bird that visits your yard and discover its name! (This could be a bird, mammal, amphibian, or reptile.) You might also look up your state bird, mammal, amphibian, or reptile. Campers will share their discoveries tomorrow morning.

REMINDER: Family BBQ after Camp Rock on Friday! Join us for food, fellowship, and celebration as we wrap up our amazing week of exploring God’s creation together!

Tomorrow is our final day as we explore Day 6 of creation – land animals and people! Get ready for our exciting conclusion!
