Would You Do It For One?

Are you willing to be a part of the mission? This weekend Pastor Joaquin continued our BIG DREAMS series with a message about MISSION from the life of Abraham.

Genesis 18:23
Then the Lord said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grave, I will go down to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry that has come to me. And if not, I will know.” So the men turned from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the Lord. Then Abraham drew near and said, “Will you indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked?

After God reaffirms His promise, Abraham takes a bold step of faith, interceding for the city.

A God-given Dream is always tied to a God-given Promise, and that Promise is connected to a God-given Mission.

1) God’s Desire Is To Reveal His Plan To You.

Abraham wasn’t left in the dark. God shared His intentions with Abraham because He wanted him to be part of the mission. God wants to reveal His plans to you too!

2) Embrace Your “So that.”

God’s promise to Abraham wasn’t just for him but for the world through him. When God gives you a dream, it’s always with a “so that” attached—a purpose that goes beyond you.

3) Draw Near To God.

When Abraham learned of God’s plan, he didn’t shy away. He approached the Lord, with a heart ready to engage. God invites us to come close, to seek His presence, and to listen to His voice.

4) Step Out In Faith And Move Beyond Fear.

Abraham steps out in faith and intercedes, pleading for Sodom even when it seemed hopeless. Faith isn’t passive; it’s action. It’s taking the step God leads you to, trusting He’ll be with you every step of the way.

Genesis 18:32-33
Then he said, “Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.” And the Lord went his way, when he had finished speaking to Abraham, and Abraham returned to his place.

Abraham asked God to spare the city for 50 righteous people, but he stopped at 10—fear and doubt held him back from the question he needed to ask: Would You do it for one? Don’t let fear limit what God can do through you—keep asking, keep stepping out and moving beyond fear, because God is with you and he is willing!
